Default Lucky me

Today one boom support rod came loose during flight.
Luckily I wasn't inverted and landed without damage.

After close inspection the screw which goes into the CNC clamp came out.
The other side was loose.
One small phillips screw came out a little bit as well.
(The screw that holds the plastic part that goes into the alu rod.)

I put a little CA on all four phillips screws to be safe.
Loctite is curing as we speak.

Still wondering why this happened.
Never seen this on my Align bird. (With *lots* of flights.)
I used loctite on all screws and degreased all parts.

Must be a high vib spot.

That same thing happened to mine. Its just a cheap part, I replaced it afterwards with $10.99 TREX 600 boom supports from anything heli. Not as shiney, but alot more sturdy and their an exact fit, no need to move the boom clamp.

That is a plan.

But why did the screw backed out?
Because the rods are to flimsy and vibe too much?

You'd think a 900 dollar heli would have decent parts throughout don't you? It just amazes me how you can spend 400, 500, 900, 1300 dollars and still end up with crap pieces.

Sjeezz, I'm not the only one.

Red loctite could also be the way to go.

And yes I do expect almost all the be OK for the money spend.
I even upgraded the boom clamp for the CNC upgrade because the stock plastic one looks like crap to me.
Pfff...

My paranoia makes me check the bolts around the tail boom clamps a lot.

I found the ones around the tail boom do get loose , I even replace my lower Jesus bolt after ever 60-70 flights.

Pretty funny since I fly foam planes I've glued together several times, but I don't think those foamys can kill anyone if there was a mishap. And there cheap.

If lots of us have this problem it got to be some design issue.
I'm going to replace them sooner or later with the Align 600's like Colonel Sanders suggested.
