Hi Gang

You'll know in good time.
All I'm going to say is, with the TDR canopy and Rakon parts, it'll be one tricked out quad.

I'm wondering how you bought anything from Mario's site! I can never find what I want on there or if you do, you have to just start clicking buttons in the hopes you find what you want. I am interested in his Phantom 2012 kit which includes a UFO canopy with the cut-outs, not the solid one, and the spindle legs. If you click on the image you get a larger image, not more info. I've gotten stuff from him 4 years ago and the site has never improved. Are you saying that the canopy you got ripped and you're not happy with it? Has anybody gotten the UFO canopy?

His web site is confusing and he could probably do better if made look more professional and easier to navigate. You just have to find the purchase buttons labeled with the items you want.
The canopy ripped only by a hair. A piece of clear scotch tape fixed it right up. My other complaint with the canopy is that it is flimsy and pops off easily. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my TDR canopy for the quad. I have not tried the UFO canopy, not my style.

Here is yet another mod I've done to make my mQX bombproof. I am using square aluminum tubing for my booms, that will bend in a crash as opposed to breaking the motor pods, frame, or splitting the CF booms (which cause torsional flex, leading to wobbly motor/props, and instability).
I bought the tubing at Lowes (in the hardware isle drawers, under hobby/craft materials $3.58 for a two pack), it is a snug fit to the frame/pods, and they only weighs 0.7gr. compared to my custom cut square CF booms @ 0.9gr. There great for resilience..... which comes in handy when your learning to fly like Warthox! And yes I fly it naked! The quad that is!

Do we have any sort of expected ETA for the Rakon parts? I'm growing anxious waiting for them. I have the full MSRX line, so it's only natural I deck out the Q too

Thanks to the kind gift of a member of italian forum baronerosso (Xx_Roberto_xX), I'm making progress in the brushless conversion.
I think the M5 motor can be adequate, if coupled with the original pinion. The XP-7A, flashed with the tail version of the BlHeli code is just perfect. The motor starts without jamming, has extremely fast response, can turn very low revs and the progression along the throttle curve is straightforward. I miss only three ESCs to lift in flight... ![]()

OK. I'm almost ready. Missing two escs, I say next week the brushless Q will fly.
Meanwhile I used the T-Rex 250 landing skids. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
