Do I absolutely have to get the Asteroid designs tail motor mount? Is anyone else using a MicroHeli metal mount or something else?

What's wrong with the astroid mount? It fits perfectly, holds the motor well, protects the wires, light weight, doesn't break and it's not expensive. I don't know of any alternatives but it seems perfect to me!

I plan on using a little heat shrink and any one of the many different 6mm mounts I have laying around.

I put heat shrink around the motor mounting post and then inserted it into a stock boom motor mount. Works like a champ. If it comes loose I will just use a tiny dab of contact adhesive for extra friction.

The stock mount with a cage is a little bit too flexible for the heat
shrink trick. The tail fall out of the mount in mid air is not pretty. That happen to me once and I will not use V2 tail mount on hp03t again. The old v1 tail mount or the msr tail mount (without the cage) is better. Thicker plastic around the motor. |
