Tail shaft sliding

After replacing the tail housing and pitch slider, the tail drive shaft seems to slide back and forth in the housing. I have all the parts installed according to the diagram, but it seems like it needs a spacer to stop the slide??

Any help appreciated.

how much sliding are you talking about?
Have the spacer on shaft?
