Getting My ESP Going Again.

Since I've gotten into glow, my ESP has been just sitting around. I've put the newer MX motor in it and bought new batteries. I went with the Turnigy 5000's for now. I had two Turnigy 4000 3S running in series before. Hoping to get about 5 minutes of flight out of them.

I initially ran my stock 6s esp with 2x3000 lipos in parallel getting more than 12 min of sport flying with the 14t pinion. I think you'll get way more than 5 min with stock gearing, like twice that. But 3D will suffer from the added weight.

Got a couple of flights on it yesterday. I set my timer for 5 minutes and the batteries came down at 22.8 vdc. They were just barely warm. No 3D yet as I'm still just a sport flyer.

May have something to do with your throttle or pitch curves or esc advance. I had my pitch range toned down to like +/- 10.5. Alot of pitch at lower throttle settings will tend to make the motor work a little harder. I also found that perfect mechanical setup and proper lubrication in the main and tail drivetrains are key elements for getting the batteries to last longer.

I think I'm running about +-12* pitch right now. I put a couple more flights on today and can get a good 6 minutes out of the pack and my voltage is still around 22 vdc. Packs are barley warm. I didn't check what I put back in, I'll do that on the next charge.
