Is there a rule that says you need to run 2 of the same batteries at once?
Do you/should you always run the same mah and c ratings togther? Would it effect anything if you didn't? Not that I plan on it but just curious to know if you could.

If the discharge rates (C rating and/or mAh capacity) of the packs are different, the amount of current the packs can deliver will be limited by the pack with the lower discharge rate.
If the capacities are different, then the flight time will be limited by the lower capacity pack. You'd be, in essence, wasting the extra capacity of the higher capacity pack.

You want the same mah for running them in series because you not adding the capacity together your adding the voltage together. If you had a 5000mah 6s pack and 3000 mah 6S pack in series it would work but you can only use the capacity of the 3000 pack otherwise you will discharge it too far.
As far as the C rating I don't think it would matter but I may be wrong.
