I have a set of MKS HBL-950HV / HBL-990HV servos in my Synergy E7. They are beautifully made and work very well. Some of the smoothest servos I've ever had.

What is the difference between the HV MKS and Outrage Torq servos?
HBL 980 & 950 VS BL9188 & 9180 as far as i can tell they are identical, heard someone say the Torq have helical gears and maybe the MKS dont? both around the same price online, not sure what to get (not that ill notice a difference either way i guess)? |

I have seen many times that MKS makes the outrage servos.
I'm sure it's true... Either way I own outrage ones on my 600 and they are great. Really high quality and performance is great... Look sexy too! I've had several MKS servos too and they have also been fantastic. I don't think you can go too far wrong either way to be honest.

I have the MKS HBL 950/980. Don't have much to compare them with, I bought them because they were supposed to be really good, and that they are so sexy

Specs look identical. But the mks state titanium gears and the outrage titanium coated gears. Not sure if they are both coated but mks don't state it?
The MKS also state an extra 10grams 70g over outrage 60g. ( tail servo) Not sure what the deal is there? Maybe longer cable.... I went ahead and ordered the MKS, will get the scales out and compare it to my mates outrage when it arrives. Sent from Android via Trap a talk 2 |

I have the MKS HBL servos on one of my machines and they are some of the best I have ever had. Very smooth and there is very little backlash in the gears after 100+ flights.

I weighed my hbl 980 and it is the 70grams advertised .. can someone weigh an Outrage torq 9188 to see if its the same? They advertise 60grams. Be nice to know what the deference, if any, really is!

According to someone who spoke to MKS, the Outrage versions have different (cheaper) electronics and operate at slower rates internally. MKS claimed they were less accurate for this reason, not sure if that could account for the weight though,

Probably more FETs too? Not sure how much weight they would add? But I'm guessing MKS weren't going to put out an under par servo after the outrage servos have been out for a while.
