Can I safely increase the CC governor beyond 13 if I use the CNC main gear? Is the CC 4.0 considered "safe" yet? If so, would that be a better route?

4.0.1 the latest is fine and no governor gain doesn't have to do with the gears it has to do with the motor. So no don't increase it the effects stay the same but that gear may stand up to it but the final effect of it failing will just be delayed

- "If using a Castle ESC make sure the Governor gain is not above 12. Any higher and this gov will eat gears for breakfast. " This implies to me that too high of a governor gain DID strip the gears. Did you mean that the amount of stress a particular gain will cause on the main gear depends on the motor? That makes sense, but even so I would expect to be able to raise the gain with a stronger main gear (assuming it was the main gear that tended to strip)

Yes it was causing them to strip based on the motors but the problem was not the governor gain it was the raw power of a 700 size motor on the fusion basically the gain doesn't need to go any higher because you will cause ossilaton the only difference being while a less powerful motor will make the gear train squeal and eventually strip gears a bigger motor would do it much faster in some cases the same flight that you turned it up. So short answer no you don't need to the turn the gain up

Using gain above 12 with the CC gov was not stripping main gears, it was stripping tail gears! Or at least that is what it was doing to mine. Not sure exactly why but after dialling down to 12 I didn't have any more issues.

I have been running again 12 since I first built mine about 9 months. After doing all the mods and corrections in the gear stripping thread I was having good luck with my TT gears so turned the gain up a d I.stantly had gear problems. Put it back at 12 and have only stripped one gear due to a bad auto.

Yes, I can attest to that, DO NOT INCREASE your gain! It will strip your tail gears! I went from 10 to 13 after the CNC gear was installed and it was OK, then I went to 15 and they stripped, don't do it. Oh, and it ended in fire, so don't do it. Yes, I have video.

Had to wait for it to be uploaded. This is the first time I used these camera glasses so the framing isn't great. In the audio you can hear the tail gears chattering which I could not hear live. The rear bevel gears were stripped.

I'm using CC 85 HV, and my governor is set to medium(25), and I never had problems with that!

Do you fly hard? I can get away with gain that high, but ONLY running my Neu motor, with the scorpion it’s a no go... didn’t even try anything over 13 because there was just no need for it at all.

Yeah, thats what I thought. No way we could run that high a gain on the 80HV ICE2 using 12s.

Aren't you running 1800RPM? If so that would explain why you are not having any issues

If this question was to me, I'm not running at 1800 rpm... I'm running at 2000 - 2100 usually.
