Default Throttle curve / Pitch curve in preset modes

Probably a dumb question, but in the preset modes (normal, stunt, etc) of the BeastX/AR7200BX no expo is supposed to be set. What about throttle/pitch curves? Is it best to leave those linear or is it okay to make adjustments to them? I know that it is best to use in transmitter setting and control everything in the transmitter, but just playing around with the different presets in BeastX...

Pitch and throttle curves are totally up to you, regardless of what Control behavior you choose to use.

I flew the beginning of this year, and the two previous years on the Extreme preset. I just switched to Transmitter mode today. My pitch and throttle curves remain unchanged.
