That was very informative and cool at the same time. My problem is I don't have a manual and the canopy was missing. But will see what I can find...
Also having to order fuel from tower hobbies for it also.. |

I think there are still some hobby shops carrying parts. And parts show up on eBay sometimes. Keep looking and you will get lucky.
Someone on Helifreak may have the parts you need... |

Oh man, I built 3 of these back in the day...ultimately threw them away... they were SO disappointing, from the terrible engine (nitro version) to the complete inability to control them in the air. I spent a small fortune on carbon fiber frames, head upgrades, etc... etc... nothing made it better.
If you're really into it, let me know... I probably have an original build manual lying around somewhere IMO, dont waste your time. Put the parts on FleaBay. |

Back in the day it wasn't a bad trainer heli... the other option was a full collective .30 kyosho nexus (yuck) with several hundred dollar crash bills, or this little tough machine. At most I was replacing tail booms (or hammering them back into place with a wooden dowel) since the blades and main shaft never broke. the original cox .049 engine was underwhelming and actually cracked, but the norvel .061 wasn't too bad.
With helis like the mCPX, it has kind of lost its edge as an affordable learning platform. Still, it wasn't -too- terrible. Good memories with that pile of...heli. |

The weakest link was the tiny nitro engine which was pretty sorry to be honest. I saw what a problem that engine was and went to the electric version (120) not long afterwords. The included engine in that one was somewhat better power wise but not long lasting and wore out in less than 2 weeks. Took a chance spent some $$ to a brush less setup and it made all the diff in the world. More power and it got rid of the control delays. If you can still convert them to Electric (brushless) that is the way to go. I still have my 120 on my bookshelf,....it has earned it's retirement Good luck.. |
