Default Pulse Batteries - Good or Bad

I was contemplating on getting some of the Pulse batteries for my T-Rex 600. There hasn't been any reviews posted on these batteries that I can find. So, I am wondering how good these batteries are. If anyone is using these batteries, please post your comments.

Someone posted that the new Pulse Ultra lipos they received look a lot like the Gens Ace but without the aluminum plate the Gens Ace are known for. From the pics, I'm inclined to agree. If they are the same manufacturer then I guess the Pulse Ultra has a good chance of turning out to be a good lipo at twice the cost of the Gens Ace 25C variety.

I have some of the older Pulse batteries, two sets of 3000 35AMP and two sets of 3300 45 AMP packs.

I had to send the 3000 packs pack to get new ones because of IR. The 3000 and 3300 that I have now are putting out great power. The IR is good low 1 and 2.

Pulses customer care to me is top notch. When I called about the first set of batteries there where no questions asked they said to send them back.

I am not sure about the new packs but if they are better than what I have I would go for it.

Thanks
Bill

I just bought a couple of their 6s 2600mah 45c xtreme power's for my rex but I haven't used them yet so I cannot comment just yet. Helidirect was having a sale and the price was just too good to pass up plus I got a discount on top of that.

I have 17 flight's each on two 45c 6s 2600. IRs are 2 to 3 per and am charging them at 3 to 4c. So far no complaints.

I am in another 20 flights on the Pulse 2600 45C on my EFL. The Pulse are holding their IR's and are performing fine. Coming from someone that used to fly only TP's, I am pleasantly surprised.

There was some Pulse pack early last year that were not good, HD took care of that if you contacted them.
The new packs made later in the year were just fine.
The new Pulse Ultra packs have low ir and seem to be really good, mine show an Ir of 2 to 2.3 on my powerlab 8

Just posting a follow-up. We are over 50 cycles on our two Pulse packs and they are still performing well. No problems or issues. I am not seeing a difference in performance from our TP's right now. Both sets come down cool, balance well, no issues, they do their job.

I'll chime in when I get to the 100 cycle mark.

I just put four 6S 3000 mAh 35C Pulse Performance packs into service yesterday. I'll keep track of how they perform.

I am flying a bunch of Gens Ace packs and I really think these might be my first packs EVER to get over 100 cycles.. and I will sure chime in when they do... if they make it.

Recently I've starting using some Pulse Ultras and they are amazing! But only 20 cycles on them so far... but at the 100 mark I'll praise them too.. if they make it.

I dont believe they are like the Gens Ace, yes they both are LiPo. Lets face it though, when can you actually get something half off that is of the same quality? In all honestly think about it, yes you can fly on Gens Ace, yes the Pulse is also a LiPo battery. When it comes to power, dont let the 25c Gens Ace fliers fool you, I can get more power, punch, and flight time on a Pulse 45c 3300 vs Gens Ace 25c 3300. You really get what you pay for with these packs and I cant keep stressing it, these packs perform. I just recently stored mine for 4 moths and they still have a stronger punch than anything else out at the field. I am going to try out the new Ultra series, but I wont get another battery. I used to run Zippy and Turnigy, all the cheaper brands just to get flying, but its all in the battery performance now, and the Pulse perform on a higher level than all the cheap LiPo batteries so far. They give about the same power performance of a TP battery without the higher 15c change ratings, which is where they can lower the price.

Pulse Ultra's are what they should have released first. They are Awesome. 60cycles on 2 5000 45c packs and still 1 and 0 for IR across each pack.

They sad thing is they released the reds first which were complete and utter garbage. So now Pulse has a bad rap.

Yes Pulse Ultra greens are amazing. I made two of my 6s5000mah into a stick pack for my Goblin and with 70 cycles on them already.... I expect a whole season with them as they feel and balance like the brand new PU stick packs I just bought.

I have 4 of the pulse 65c 2600's (red) and 3 of the TP 65c 2700's. Recently checked all with a watt meter on my 60in Edge with Ice 100 and Motrol fly motor. The pulse all had a higher watt output (200-300) than the TP, and one of the TP's only had been flown 5-6 times. But a friend of min bought the same packs and had an IR reading of 9-13 on 2 new packs (red). But no problems getting replacements. So I am thinking that that they were clearing out the old because of problems.
