Ok, i have two of these on a field supply i am setting up. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SK0979
Have confused myself with wiring it up. Three posts on the switch 1 and 2 are the same, the third is gold. Posts 1 = load, 2 = supply, 3 = neutral or earth ? with neutral, the illuminated light stays on all the time there is power to the switch, even if the switch is off. I thought it would turn the light off if the switch was off.

Reverse the power in and out wires but leave the 3rd wire the same
|

Oh man, be careful. I used to use that type of switch for 55 watt 12v fog lights on my car. I blew out 3 of them before I figured out I needed a relay.
Good thing you're not using that on a heli. Good luck. ![]()

But any normal switch, the center is the common terminal. Switch goes from center to either other pin, depending on the switch position. When using a lighted switch, they tool the light from the center pin, because of physical wiring inside the switch its near impossible to take it form the normal switched side.
