Hey guys,
I just got a CC Phoenix Ice Lite 50 for my 450. The first CC ESC I have owned. I have the parameters set up for governor mode. The first box say set your throttle curve to 30% flat for this head speed, next box 70% and third 100% for this head speed. Just so I understand, I set my TX throttle curves to 30% flat, 70%flat and 100% flat in the different flight modes to accomplish those designated head speeds? Basically, is that how the ESC recognizes the change in head speeds? Craig

Yep , that's how to do it ..
BUT.... set the lower two points on the NORMAL curve to 0, 0 ..... or it wont initialise...

![]() I'm coming from flashed ESC's for mCPX's and they need to know what the governed head speed is with the flat throttle curve. Like I said, I'm new to this ESC so please excuse my ignorance.

Or use TH or ThrottleCut to initialize and leave all your curves flat.

What I do is set TH for bail out, usually around 15-18%. Assign TCut to trainer at 0%. Then have the three flat curves 30/70/100 for N/I1/I2.
Then I can walk it to the flight line without the ESC armed. Push Trainer when it's safe to arm and flick out of TH when it's safe to spool up.

So can I just use throttle hold as throttle hold if I don't want to use the auto rotatiom enable function? Pretty much set up the flat throttle curves in the governor mode and use the TH to kill the power?

Yup, just set TH to 0%. But accidentally bump TH and your heli will be on its way to its lowest gov speed within about 5 seconds

It's wise to set norm throt to something like 0-15-30-30-30. If you plan to use autorotation, having your thold set to 0% will cause the esc to enter initial spoolup speed instead of spooling up instantaneously to bail out of an auto.

Once I made so stupid mistake that I had same RPM for both Normal and IU1 mode with a 0,30,30,30 curve for the Normal one. When I took off I forgot to switch to IU1 and went inverted. When I pulled the stick all the way down it turned off the motor and that did not end any good - crashed. Since then all my curves are flat.

I use a linear curve for normal that hovers close to the same stick position thats needed to hover in idle up 1. (I hope that makes sense lol) I like doing it like this so if I make any changes to the heli set up I have more control over the initial spool up. Then flat 30 and 70 for idle up 1 and 2.

I finally got to take the 450 out and use the Ice Lite 50. I really like the governor mode. I checked out tthe logging but will have to do some research to understand what oit all means.
One thing I did notice it that the ESC got hot, I think. I was using a lowerer head speed so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it. It's also 91 degrees outside so I'm sure that's not helping.

Every time I have tried the CC GOV on any of my heli's the motors and the ESC ran hot. With no gov they cooled right down.

I'm going to try it again in the morning with the governed headspeed set higher and see what happens. If it still runs hot, I'll try switching back to setting the speed with the TX, ditching the governor and see what happens.
