Default New to Quad just started a fw450 Naza and fw550 hexa build.

While been flying planes since the early 80's took a 20 year break got back into heli's now I dove head first into quads. Just got done selling most of my Heli stuff and bought a blade mqx quad love it, picked up a used like new rclogger eye sky 650 quad love it, now I just got my fw450 quad with Naza and the fw550 with wookong let the building begin. I tend to take a bit longer in builds with the wife and kids needing me more than the hobby. She loves how 1/2 hr turns to 4. Well I even got some graupner 8.5 and 10.5 props. Took on out of the pack they get a little scratched up before they pack them but still very nice. I have read a ton in hear and other sites I'll be back with ?'s I bet but great info in here guys.

Welcome to the ark side! You are deffinately going to love it.
Both are excellent kits. The WKM and Naza are both excellent products. We are all here to help.
A quick tip, in case you do not already know. The DJI driver files are a .rar file, so you will need a zip that recoginizes it, like 7-zip, which is free.
The directions are ok, though the English leaves a little to the imagination.
Have fun, lock the hobby door and hang a sign, "do not disturb under penalty of death".

Ok the 450 is built and maidened with 3s and 10in props in A mode nice and stable drifts a little to the rear. She is also a little wobbly after making corrections like bouncy, proberly a gains adjustment. I have the spektrum dx8 with the ar8000 and was wondering how to set up my fail safe so I bind it again with the throttle in center poss, for know she flys and it's time to dial it in.

I'm also trying to set up the 550 and know its time to start back on that one.

This thread is what got me through the fail safe setup. Make sure your DX8 is set to preset fail safe.

Excellent, welcome aboard.

I have another DJI450 and a new DJI330 frame on their way, I might have to do a proper build video on one of them.

I'm going to help my brother build a 450 Flamewheel, and would like to know what performance we may be sacrificing if we go with a 6 channel rx rather than something higher?

I'm only using 5 channels right now, and if I use a gimble that's 2 more and if I wanted to control gains that would be even more channels. I know that the guys on here have way more info on this.

Won't lose any performance with 6 channels, will fly just fine. If you end up wanting camera pan and tilt control, then you will need more.

I maidened the fw550 it flew nice for a few minutes yesterday but my battery a thunder power 4s died quickly. I built and tested with it all day so who knows how long it really lasted. Wife was not happy a few hours took me about 8 boy did I hear about it. Lol.
If I can get to it today I need to set up the seperate gimble control channel and set the fail safe up.
