I was hovering in mildly gusty winds and noticed the heli was hard to hold at a stable height. It would jump or fall a couple of feet when a gust hit it.
Is it normal for a 450 size heli to Do this or should i be upping my gain? In normal flight its as stable as can be so i dont really want to mess with the settings. Cheers Nick

Never flown a FBL 450, but my FB 450 is a bitch to hold steady in gusty conditions.

Wind + 450 = Roller coaster = Reason for me to gave it up (Denmark = always windy)
The FBL can counter correct cycling movements with the trade off of vertical movements. |

I leave in the mountains here in Canada and it's often windy = go bigger if you can 550/600 and the wind is no problem , just makes it go faster one direction !!

Very normal behavior. Every gust of wind increases the lift of the rotor disc (called translational lift). Combine this with a light heli like a 450, and you get a lot of bobbing up and down.

Nope, not without some sort of altimeter, the GPS addon for the 720 might be able to do this (if it ever arrives).

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Thats saved me tweeking settings for no reason.
Will just have to wait for gps. Will this ever arrive? Its taking way too long in my opinion considering it was advertised as a future feature some years ago. I love the sk as is , but come on, give us a release date at least.
