Hi guys!
I dont trust very much that servos but destiny has taken me to have it since they came on used cheap helicopters that I bought from ebay. My question is: Does the diference on speed and torque between both servos has to do with the gears? I have burned ds420 tail servo and gear stripped ds410 (too expensive gears for this servo real value...) and I have a 450 waiting for a tail servo, Im also using a 410 servo on a 450 tail that works fine, but not enough for 3d I feel... I think theres a posibility that they are the same in electronics and the only thing that changes is the gears relation... Do somebody made that test already? For sure yes!!! Too much people here that loves to test everything... If not, I think I will give it a try... I havent done it yet, just because I dont wanna be dissapointed if I find out myself I was wrong... ![]() ![]() ![]()

Torque and speed. http://www.servodatabase.com/compare?servos=69,71 The 410s are cyclic servos, more torque to use against the large forces at work in the head. The 420 is a tail servo, more speed to keep up with the needs of the tail.

What I mean is that I want to know if it is the same electronic and case, and what makes the difference is the gears. I mean, If I take a 410 and change the gears to the 420 gears, then the 410 becomes a 420 in torque and speed? Is it gonna get less torque and more speed as a 420?

Ok, I did the test in a not scientific way... I took off both, 420 and 420 first and second gear, measured it with a digital caliper and there was a really tiny difference, so I decided to change it anyway, if it was all the same, there was nothing to be worried about(I think...).
Then tested again the ds410 with ds420 gears on it and looks a lot better. I made a couple of piros many times and the tail stopped almost like a 9257(futaba). Only tiny mini almost unperceivable wag on the stop. All that was on my backyard. I have to try it on the field but Im almost sure I was right...
