Default My DX6i reset itself??

Today I got out to the field. I was getting ready to fly my 500 and found that all my tx settings had been reset. Tail gain was at 50%, timer was back to 6 mins (that's what raised the red flag), servo direction was all reset to N. It retained the settings for my 700. Just reset all the 500 to default. Anyone ever had this happen?

It's happened to me once or twice over four years. Infuriating. Now I back up my models to an emtpy model slot for a little peace of mind.
