I just got an aluminum tail arm for my 700E. Problem is the ball on the tail slider is too large for the plactic insert that it's supposed to ride in. Am I supposed to use a reamer to get it to the right size? I've never had to do that on any of the other helis I have is why I ask. I got the arm from Heliproz and they sent me the arm for the 700 Nitro which is what they list under the 700E also so I assumed they are supposed to interchange. I'd really hate to muck this thing up if I simply have the wrong arm especially for $17.
Thanks, Jeff |

I had the same issue when I put the metal arm on my 700E. Assuming that you ordered part number: ALIGN Metal Tail Rotor Control Arm Set HN7086A
I had to have the metal pitch assembly, part number: ALIGN Metal Tail Pitch Assembly HN7079A in order for everything to work. Hope this helps! Dom

Thanks, I'll give it a look. That is the part number for the aluminum arm I got but with a "T" at the end. Seems strange that they just don't interchange like most all other helis do though.

Yikes!! $26 for the slider you listed to replace a slider that is already metal. There had to be another option. SInce I seem to be up to my ears in helicopters I decided to take a look at all of the balls I had on hand. It turns out that a ball from a Trex 600 fits perfectly in the plastic insert and also threads into the existing slider. The only thing I have to do is ever so slightly file off a little from the end of the threaded portion of the ball. It will bind on the tail shaft just when you give it that last little cinch down to tighten it up. Hope this helps someone save a little cash in the future.
