My V1 circuit board burned out after the first few flights. HH replaced it on waranty, but I had to wait 3 months for the part...
I just received the board, fitted it and tried a test flight... The heli is totally uncontrolable and a real handful to even hover. Anyone got any ideas as to what could be wrong? |

Do you have any previous heli flying experience ?
What transmitter are you using ? If it is computerised then what are your settings ? |

Don't forget to check for a level swash.

Rudder stick right during the bind I hope. Are the servos plugged into the correct sockets ? Right hand servo, right hand socket. Left hand servo, left hand socket Motors in the correct sockets and the right way round ? |

and then the other possible issues ,such as are you sure the servos are pluged into the correct positions, main and tail motors pluged in correctly as in motors turn the correct way.
A heli is an extremly complex mechanical device and the AS3X flybarless controller is really an electronic marvel but unless all is connected, correctly ,all mechanical connections are correct and the Transmitter is properly set there is no way to make it fly. OK I see another post that you are an experienced heli pilot . You do know about letting the heli not be distrubed while booting up,right? Also not letting it wonder around on the ground prior to lift off as it is flybarless. Any idea why the originl bord burnt out. just seems strange as they have over currtent protection and besides an exoperience pilot would likely hit TH long before OCP could be tripped. |

mounting the 3in1 can be tricky.
many people put an extra couple of O rings either side of the board for vibration damping. obviously check for loose connections on the board and carefully check all your servos are working correctly, if it's not been used for 3 months they might be sticking. can you explain in more detail what's happening? tail out of control, vibration. vague controls?. |

Hey,
Thanks for the replys... The heli is correctly set up.. everything works right. I power up on a level surface and take of quicky- the flybarless way. The thing I didn't do as per your suggestions is bind with the rudder stick to the right... what does this do? I was not aware of this... going to rebind and try again.... |

I bet you have a vibration that did not effect the V1 board but effects the V2 board. Will it hover at a lower headspeed?
Put on some goggles and grasp it at the boom mount at 0 pitch. At WOT do you feel any vibrations???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Again, still haven't heard what it's actually doing to make it uncontrollable. It's an extremely quick, nimble, semi-twitchy little heli. Is it drifting one way or another? Tail not holding on yaw? Just moving too fast/twitchily (unlike larger helis)? Diving one way or another on inputs? It is a handful until you get used to how it responds.
'Uncontrollable', we can't help with. 'Tail won't hold and keeps spinning clockwise' on the other hand, probably can be fixed. Rudder-right-on-bind indicates a computerized TX. Left is for analog TXes (DX5e). The v1 boards defaulted to computerized TX with no rudder input (no idea why they changed this). The most common result of binding a V2 board without holding the rudder in the correct direction is cyclic control, but no throttle response; doesn't sound like that's what's happening here, but other fail-states HAVE been known to happen. I would recommend deleting your profile, inputting the settings manually (rather than downloading them) on a new clean/deleted/wiped profile to be absolutely certain they're set correctly, then binding the heli to the new, manually-created profile. It solves a LOT of weird, inexplicable problems a lot of the time.
