You will need to convert to flybarless, but it should work with the Helimax 125cp. It will not work well with a flybarred setup, because the flybar basically serves the same purpose, and would get in the way of the flybar doing its job.
I'm fairly certain that you will be ok using this receiver on the 125cp, but to be sure, I would ask in the V120 forums. Just to reiterate, this is the Devo version, not the WK version. Weren't you looking at a Devo transmitter, anyway though?

I have soo many helis I get confused! Not a bad thing, about two weeks ago I had an impulse buy! Bought a Novus 125. Love the little guy but hate the TX, RTF version. So did some searching and decided against the 2801 due to most people preaching the new devo! Soooo, I said what the hell and bought a 120DO2S w/ a devo 8s.
Now I own 2 birds that share some parts, same batts. I just don't see me flying the 125 unless it gets devonized or I buy a 2801 to fly it. I'm just picky and hate the HeliMax TX! If I could fly the novus off my devo 8s I would throw the helimax TX away.. Make since?

The 2801 pro is a great transmitter, in fact, I use one with all my walkeras along with my larger birds, including my 600 pro. It works really well, but I've been wanting to get a new devo for a while too. It'll probably be another long while before I actually purchase one, so I'm getting rid of this devo version rx. The rx and fbl head would be a cheaper, and probably better option since you've already got the 8s, which is a fantastic transmitter. I'm not sure where you can get a fbl head from, but if the main shaft in the old d02 is the same, you can use it to convert your 125cp. I may actually have a couple of these heads laying around. If you wanted to pick the receiver up, I could include a flybarless head for you to use along with it. Maybe that would be all you'd need in order to convert the 125cp over to fbl.
I'll have this thing for a while probably, as no one has shown any interest in it, and I'm not in a hurry to get rid of it. Take your time, do some research, then let me know what you'd like to do. If you do decide you want it, I'll throw in an old d02 head, main shaft, and maybe a swashplate and links, if I've got those laying around too. No extra charge... My d02 never sees the light of day anymore (I've got 2 D02S helis), and I've got tons of spare parts for it. In fact, if there's any other part you need off of it, I probably have it. Do some searching if you want, then let me know. Thanks for looking.

I will compare my two birds when i get home. One would think that as long as you had the shaft, head , swash and links it would work. What about motor and esc? Will they except that rx?

I'm pretty sure that you can put whatever motor/esc combo you need in there, so long as the esc matches the motor. You may want to ask in the walkera forums, but I know people who aren't using the D02S motor/esc combo with the D02S receiver in their 4g6/D02/etc.

After looking a bit I think I will skip putting money into it! I would definetly need a better motor/esc so hell, I'll keep it stock and find a deal on a better TX that might still hold it's value, unlike this heli! Damn impulse buy. Possibly sell it later.
It looks kinda cheesy next to the 120DO2S! I thought the main gear was the same, The battery and possibly servos are all that I can see that is the same! Thanks however!
