Is it me or do most off these vids of people flying their Xxtremes seem like they are running a much higher head speed than 1800rpm. Mine sounds no where near as screaming at 1800 as most I see on youtube!!
Or is it just me??

I fly mine below 1800, most flights are in 1700-1710 range on my vids.

1780 rpm on 6 cell TP's. Maiden flight this morning with strong wind. I am very impressed with the "Out the box performance" Almost Everything in the kit fits and gels together perfectly.

I want to experiment with lower head speeds on my xxtreme. Maiden flight the governor was not set up properly and I was flying at 2100 per a tachometer - wow it was super fast. Dialed in the governor and now flying at 1650 -1750. I want to try out lower 1300-1450 but my question is do I need to change the expo on my TX? I am running 20% expo on my other smaller helis with higher head speeds Lower head speeds seems mushy flipping and rolling with much more collective needed to fly inverted?? I am fairly new at this so I would appreciate any input on the expo. Thanks!

That's just what happens with lower head speeds. Changing expo, agility settings and gains might help a little, but there is a limit as to how fast you can get a heli to move at the lower head speeds, and that's just the way it is. That's why it's always said it takes superior collective management to fly 3D at lower head speeds. You can't rely on instantaneous collective and cyclic response to bail you out. You've got to be one step ahead of the heli all the time. Here is a video of Kyle flying the XXtreme @ 1400 head speed. It flies 3D at the low head speed just fine, but it's got to be methodical. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8h2pkrLxpo (-: Dave
