So I've had my 500 for nearly 1.5 years now, replaced the main, feathering and tail shafts with align ones, and has been flying great all this time...Then I decided to mess with it, and now I have a little wag I can't get rid off.
Basically I noticed the tail grips were getting a bit sloppy, I rembered reading a thread about gently filing down the hub to stop the grips rocking etc. Did that, put the tail back together, all seemed great, took it for a flight, wag wag, wag, I adjusted gain up and down, tried using delay, nothing worked. Fired the heli up on the bench, tried moving tail push rod, by hand, it was nearly impossible to move, even at a fairly low speed, which confused me as tail felt so smooth, I've replaced the hub and grips with align ones, now the wag is down to about an inch either way, but I just can't get rid of it. Also when I flicked to. idle up the other day, something made a screeching sound. I've since had the whole tail system apart to check bearings etc. Anyone got any ideas, I'm stumped, I should of just left it alone. Lol |

I took the whole tail apart last night, and the belt and all bearins seemed fine, flew again today, still wagging, I. guess I need to strip it down, and check for vibes as i go.

While the heli is not powered up try moving the tail by hand...if stiff then that's why its wagging. As the slider moves on the tail shaft and binds it causes over correction when it gets past the area it's getting stuck at and vise versa. Could also be a bad setting in the gyro and not finding the correct center.
