Lack of quality control at the factories in China....their lack of hand soldering skills are lengendary....

But the servo itself is great.....just check the wires....

I lost my elevator servo around flight 45- resulted in bad crash. Took the opportunity to change all cyclic servos to HiTec 5065MG.

I just lost my tail servo this past weekend on flight #75- good thing I did a control check before lifting off so I didn't fly with it. I had noticed the two flights prior that the tail was beginning to show a bit of wag in inverted hover. I replaced it with a stock servo- they are fast and light.

Both failures were the same- the servo motor just didn't have any power any longer. It would turn, but it always needed "help" to get started moving. I think one of the FETs is burning out on the board.

Im confused as I have checked all solder points and they seem good, when I take the gears off I have to spin the lil motor by my finger and it will spin but slowly, when I give it a input or barely touch it, it stops I also noticed a tiny bit of wag inverted to, but I just replaced the tail servo with a stocker brand new and still have a tiny tiny bit of wag inverted, I ll try making sure my links and servo are close to 90 as possible. Other than that this servo thing is killing me lol

My basic point is to check things......

Just because it's "BNF"...

I can't speak of knockoffs or adaptations of the 450X......as I have 3 certified, original, pedigried 450Xs......and all the tests that I perform have been done so on "the HH/E-Flite" 450X.....

From what I have tested, among other things, the 450X is a great buy for the buck.....

I certainly will get the 500X, when available, and I hope HH and company go bigger....600X/700X

For me, it's easier to check an "ARF" heli, than to fumble with all the "washers"......if I have a choice.....and as an EE, I can at least check the electronics.....and pass on whatever info...

I have had 2 of the DS76's die. The first one I thankfully catch before taking off but the second one died just after takeoff resulting in a lot of damage. Also every time the blades touch the ground at least 2 of the 3 cyclic servos strip a gear.(The fact that mine is FBL makes this even worse)

I am now using the Solar D654 servos from hobbypartz.com. They are digital and metal geared. I have about 100 flights and 1 crash on them and they are working great. After 3 crashes with them they will pay for themselves since they are $10 a piece and three DS76 gear sets is about that.

I agree with you, I tore it down and reset everything and built it back to proper spec and what a difference ! I learned from the SR better to tare it down outta the box and redo it properly from ground up so you know EXACTLY what to expect

Prior to tare down I found the cause of my issue was "me not setting the heli up outta box" and the problem I had was the servo was binding the link to the swash hence making the servo over work itself and burn up...Since re-doing the beast x setup from start to finish and quadruple checked everything over went for a test hover things went perfect ! Stuck a fresh pack in 15 mins later and ripped the sky up Had to go into menu L I think it was to redo the endpoints on the servos

I will be upgrading them to prob hiteks or something else dunno yet...but as far my ignorance im sure these servos will hold up alright now that I got it setup right lol
