Default Quick recovery during pitch pump

I decided to emulate a rocket this evening, but 3.5 seconds of fully pitch was as much as my courage would allow. Interesting how the YGE recovered the head speed during the climb.

The head-speed dropped from it's average 2707 RPM, dipping to 2539 RPM but then rapidly recovering to 2640 RPM, slowly increasing for the remainder of the climb. It then overshot to 2770 RPM before settling back.

I've not given the ESC quite such a burst of power before and it was good to see how it handled it.

Hah, you may joke, but as I had a camera on board I can say that the view looked exactly like this...

What an idyllic landscape! Do you have a current log? It would have a peak followed by plateau then a short ring at the end. would be interesting to see its shape, and to see how much lower a precomp gov would lower the peak.

Btw are you still using shallow v curve for the gov?

I'm doing it now and seems to work really well. 72-71-70-71-72

Sorry, no current monitoring! I've not played around with a V much more. I tried using the CGY750 gov with minimum gain controlling the YGE in gov store mode, and even though there wasn't much correction going on, the tail suffered.

If and when Futaba release new CGY750 firmware I'll give it's gov another try but for now I'm just enjoying flying!
