I have a AP cotper that I put a HC3sx on. I've been able to go high enough where I really don't have any good visual cues to control the copter with, about 400 feet. Twice now at that elevation I've let go of the heli controls and took pictures while I pirouetted. The wind would blow the heli adrift but the horizon in the pictures were almost perfect. I am really impressed with this little unit. And I've gone FBL for the first time with it. Really liking that too.
I can't figure out where all the trouble is people keep having with this unit. This picture was taken at 420 feet as described. http://s951.photobucket.com/albums/a...dshoot-013.jpg This picture too I let the heli self level http://s951.photobucket.com/albums/a...dshoot-022.jpg |

You sure have some beautiful subject matter to work with. Something I want to do with a couple good rock climbing areas here is fly the climbing route up in video. As a rockclimber that would be priceless. A gust of wind against the rocks sure would suck though.
I went out early this morning to try out my nightflying gear. Against the dark sky my strips of red led's started fading pretty fast. At that point ALL my faith was in the Hc3sx. And it worked. Think I'll stay a little closer in with the night flying, Hc3sx or not. |
