I extended my tail boom .5”, not 1”. Kept the original coated wire and added shrink wrap.

Lots of flights. Everything else stock, good balance, good yaw rate, no blow-outs, no wag, no shorts, no problems.

Extended my boom last evening. Used 6" of a boom strut off my 250 that the end cracked off of (I don't like throwing things away). It works great. The motor is weak is so I have a 7mm motor and mount coming. I think that is really going to lock it in.
