Default DJI Naza/GPS spare parts

In the event of a crash that takes out the GPS mast, how does one go about finding the replacement parts?

Since we glue the pieces together, I can forsee needing the 2 aluminum pieces plus the carbon shaft.

I haven't seen these items for sale separately.

I had the same problem. I ended up drilling (Dremeling) the carbon rod out of the aluminum ends, and using one of the different lengths as a replacement, since the kit came with three. It was actually very easy to do. Now I just put a dab of silicone or CA to hold the rod in, instead of epoxy like I did the first time.

I was thinking about silicone instead of gluing.

Should hold when set.

No epoxy for sure.

Or you can just mount it on an arm. I did that with my F450 and it works well for me.

Ed,
I'm just about to set up the gps on my 550, I dislike the tower arrangement, so your mounting flat on your arm? Is that correct? If your not having any issues I will try the same setup and see how it goes.

David.

I didn't like the height on the tower. I cut the rod and lowered the antenna.

I also made the bottom mount adjustable in case I needed to tweak the
orientation just a bit.

Thanks I'll give that a try this weekend on the 450, and might do that with my hexa 550 with wookong , I'm having a hard time getting the wookong dialed in, it hovers great but when I go forward it and stop it drifts in a circle to the right and when I go back it doesn't come straight back it goes to the left an when it stops circles to the left. I have rotated the gps a little to left a few degrees same thing. I think I'm not putting in the correct gps xyz measurement. I have the mast mounted on the back upper plate and my x I put -6cm
My y I leave zero it's in the middle of plate and z I have -13. ?? Thanks

I learned a valuable lesson about putting electronics on the arms when I had a prop fail and lost my ET OSDPRO in the resulting crash and the headers got ripped right of the board. FWIW.

Default Replacement GPS Mast

I have had major problems with the 2.02 Firmware Upgrade with rollovers and have now broken off my GPS add-on 4 times. So....I have had all of the same problems discussed here - broken GPS masts - drilling out the aluminum pieces to replace the rod, and not being able to find a replacement fiberglass rods online. (I searched online for hours with no luck).

I have a decent solution that works well for my F450 and F550 and prevents me from having to fix it again and again.

I now take a leg from a camera tabletop mini tripod and use this as my GPS add-on 'mast'. It is firm enough to hold the GPS add-on in place, easy for me to make adjustments if need be, and it will bend in a crash without breaking off.

Hope this helps -

-Jeff

Thehatguy, how do you like your landing gear? I have ordered a set for myself they should be here any day now. Are they pretty sturdy when landing?
