Default Reporting back with canopy

I just received my cheap fiberglass canopy for my 450x from hobbypartz....I remember I asked in a thread about this canopy so I figured I would post pics and overall quality..

For the price it cant be beat in my opinion, It is very light and does NOT affect cg or flight characteristics...Paint on it is visible and looks good to me, It's by far not a chip foose paint job but looks good...Here is some pics for you heli freaks rocking the 450x

Please post your thoughts or questions I'm curious !

You can see in this last pic where the lines on the paint are not straight as can be but I can only see it when Im up real close to it in flight no way lol

Looks darn good for the price. Glad to hear that it is nice and light.

I don't want to hear about how it does in a crash. I wouldn't wish that on my fellow Helifreak.

It is light and if you drill your holes just right it fits like a glove and a lil more room for bigger batt not much tho more than stock...It is actually quite strong Im just happy with its weight ! I need to measure the thickness of this canopy Im curious now

And prob in a crash I could see it breaking lol

I bought a similar canopy on eBay. Do you have a underside pic? Curious how you mounted it.

LOL not only is the stock canopy harder to see but I dont care for the looks of it honestly and I like the shape of this one better plus its more visible !

I mounted it on the body mount post and underneath I have a small piece of velcro so when I put on the canopy It doesnt move at all...even with no velcro I wouldnt see it coming off it fits really good and tight just depends on how good you drill the holes...you can see in the last pic the velcro underneath

Looks good!

As it's cheap and as it (IMHO) looks better than the stocker, it's a winner.

You shouldn't have any trouble keeping your eye on that one, looks great! Have you tried their blades yet? I ordered a couple of sets for spares but haven't used them.

Someone had the brilliant idea to put a blue and white canopy on it. I suspect they were from Horizon UK, wanting good contrast against the sky.

Huh? Not sure I understand. The other Blades? I don't have a SR... found out about it ahead of time and managed to avoid that one.

Though I also picked up a few sets of EXI-CF 335mm blades, I have yet to CG/balance them and get them on for a test flight.

Did grab one of those cheap Lipo-Safe bags from Hobbypartz at the same time, and found out why they're so cheap... they appear to make the interior out of stinging nettles mixed with loose fiberglass shards and itching powder. Put my hand in to check the inside, and felt around pretty thoroughly, really ran my hand all over it, on all sides... was OK for a little bit, then OHGODSOITCHY for the next 10 hours or so. Seriously, couldn't even get to sleep it was so freaking terribad. Ended up having to vaseline my whole hand, wrap it in a ziploc baggie and a towel just so I could doze off. Still a little itchy even now (could just be psychosomatic though) with little red bumps all over. Not sure if microscopic cuts or fiberglass burn.
DEFINITELY wearing gloves whenever I use it from now on, in either case.

If it's cheap, then just throw it away!
