Default Did any of you see the Diabolo coverage in the AMA magazine?

I think that Gerd and Peak will have a lot of buisness generated from this article that complements the Diabolo very highly.

Congratulations! Demand for Diabolos may see a pretty good bump just based on that article.

I'm enjoying the build very much! Everything fits together perfectly.

Nothing exudes quality like a toilet roll tube!

Sorry, I know it is a great kit, but like it or not using a toilet roll tube will draw some ribbing, even if it appears to be a solution that is working well.

I'll probably still end up building one eventually toilet roll tube or not. I'm just not in a rush and I really want to see a number of electronic products proven that are under development and nearing release.

Sorry forgot to say "helical wound, compressed ligniferous, thin-walled, micro-shock and vibration damper."

As per Gerd, it's not a toilet roll tube.

It's a paper towel roll! I don't think they make 20cm toilet roll tubes. (I could be wrong)

Gift wrapper roll works too!

If it makes any one feel better, I can sell them the required roll ,package it and charge for it. Should have one available in a day or two.

Is the article available online? If not any chance of scanning it for us to see? If there are any copyright issues then forget it. Thanks

The title of the article was,

Minicopter Diabolo blows away the competition

The Diabolo won the IRCHA Jamboree speed run, and the article goes on to say how smooth and quiet this heli is and how it is great for 3D and speed.

They mentioned the crowd commenting that it was the quietest and smoothest heli they had ever heard. Obviously they haven't been around a TDR

The article spanned 4 pages and had a number of pictures and the address and phone number for Peak.

Thanks John, I got that installed last night. I had to unwind 1/4 paper towel roll and then wind the paper towels back onto the under cabinet holder. So far, the wife hasn't noticed...

It made it a snug fit. Did you use any glue to secure it in the boom?

Don't think that necessary, if you get the size right the two sides butt joint snugly together

In the manual it shows overlapping in the boom.

I raided our towell roll from the pantry and stuffed the towell back in. My wife found it and wondered wtf happened!

It's only purpose is to muffle belt slap, or have I missed something?
Noticed that the pdf manual also includes this step. Nothing about it in the online manual when I put the heli together in late January...

Anyway, I have not bothered. Belt is probably a little tighter than recommended, however I feel that I've found the sweet spot that works for me. :

3rd hole from rear, center of arm slightly to the left of center of cutout, room temp.
No need for field adjustment (so far), and no belt slap audible...

-I prefer my butt joints to be side-by-side not overlapping - makes sitting down easier

- Just blame next door's cat/dog/cockatiel for raiding the paper towel and you were just helping out by stuffing it back in the pantry

I would have like to see it at the very lease mentiond in small print on the front cover. It is a real shame, I didn't even know it was in there! I was giving a quick flip through b4 i flipped it into the trash can and saw her sitting in all of her glory. It was a great artical that a very few who are interested will see, and for a heli that is so great they gave it nothing. Just some guy flinging a FF into the air sad sad sad to the AMA on this one. Just my 2 cents.
I will be placing my order and giving deposit with Peak R/C July 1st

Barely, I flipped threw mag twice before catching the article. Wish i didnt though...Now I can't stop looking at this heli. Tell me it sucks and handles like a flying turt so I can go back to my simple life. I planned on getting an x5 in the next few weeks... But now I don't know.
