Sounds like a bad batch of motors came thru. Keep in mind these things are made overseas so a bad batch is always a probability. Just be thankfull you are dealing with quality people who will exchange or refund your costs. Think of all the things you have problems with and get no satisfaction....Me..I just keep flyin my original stocker with more than 150 flights on it, works great ! (mabey I should just keep my mouth shut so my luck don't change)

I installed the new replacement that Xtreme mailed to me and it works. Seems smoother and quieter than thew stock motor.

glad you got one that works, F1
the Xtreme motor would have to exhibit an actual perceptive definite difference in performance in order for me to justify spending more than 4 times the amount of a stock plant, as well as the risk of receiving a stinker and having to send it back..."seems" smoother and quieter just ain't enuff to sell me on it yet. As I said before, I have no complaints with the stock motors I've had (haven't had that many), and the little bit of noise it creates isn't an issue for me. |

Glad I read this, was going to be one of the upgrades I was just about to order.
Been flying mine a lot since January gotta have close to 200 flights on the original main motor and still going fine, replaced lots of other stuff including the tail motor. I'm confident enough now to spend a bit of money for some better replacement parts but I think I'll stick with the stock motor. |

Update: I called extreme directly and they sent me a new motor. Put it in yesterday it actually flies. Didn't notice a huge improvement in power or rotor speed. Hopefully it will get better when it's broke in.

Ok today I got to fly with my brand new nanotechs and in a large enough space, the motor is way better than stock, it is faster. Glad I bought it now.

Just installed the replacement motor they sent. I have to say I don't know what the fuss is about these? The stock motor is definitely stronger the this Xtreme crap. Oh well... I've wasted way more than 12 bucks on other stuff than this before. Live and learn. |

![]() it seems like it takes %65-%75 throttle just to hover it in comparison to %45-50% throttle with the stock motor, it seems like its slowly getting better. I was reading another thread about breaking in the engine (didn't know it was required for electric motors).. Maybe thats all it is, they just need a bit of breaking in and then they fly like a champ |

That's about what I'm experiencing. I know others will chime in and say your mods add extra weight, but the only mod I've done was a 1" longer tail boom. The Xtreme motor looks cooler, but that's about it. I went back to the stock unit.

Yup. Got mine from ValueRC... Motor won't even get the heli above a foot off the ground at full throttle... Calling Xtreme directly and hopefully get one with some cajones. . this one is underpowered and makes me assume its defective. . I'll let you all know how the call know to xtreme goes...

Xtreme is just going to have to really amp up their QC with these motors in order for me to order one. It just seems like the chances of getting a dud are too great.
question for you guys who have had bad experiences: Have you had to send back the defective motors at your own expense in order to receive a replacement? |

Did you have to break it in? or did it just fly right out of the package? Where would you say your throttle stick sits to keep it in hover or to lift off?

Extreme sent me a new one no questions asked. The one from eBay I had to pay shipping back to seller. It was like $4 to send USPS.

It's good that Xtreme came through (as they should) or those little motors would get quite costly if one had to keep paying the freight to send 'em back til they finally received a good one.
