Hello all,
I installed the RCHobbyGear converter in my Walkera 400d02 and have it working with no problems. This allowed me to remove the stock ESC. I have brushless main and tail motors from rtf-heli.com. I’m trying to do the following so that I can adjust the pitch and swash level. I was able to do this when I was using just the converter, ESC's and motors from the rtf-heli.com brushless upgrade: Disconnect the motors, switch the Rx to "ADJ", then bind the heli, switch to UI1, put the collective to 50%, ( mid stick ). Your servos should be as close to 90° to the main shaft as possible. Then, check where the swash is sitting....should be somewhere near the middle of the travel distance on the main shaft. When I un-plug the power for the rchobygear converter, I lose power to the transmitter, so the heli won’t bind and the servos won’t move. Is there some way I can bypass the converter to get power to the transmitter? Do I have to plug the stock ESC back in to power the transmitter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You just need to remove the motor from the picture while you are throttling up to 50% on the bench. I think you'll be fine if you just unplug the main and tail motors after you bind the receiver.

Hello all,
I figured it out. I used a servo extension cable to bypass the converter and plug the main ESC power directly into the transmitter. Now the heli binds and servos are working with no power to the motors. ![]() |
