POM Dampers

I purchased some POM dampers for my DFC head and went to go switch them out and the ones that came out were very hard and sounded like plastic being hit together for lack of better words. I want to believe that my head was shipped with these dampers. How would I know the difference?

It appears that not all DFC upgrade kits were sent out with soft dampers. Mine did.
Here is a pic of the soft non-POM dampers and the aftermarket POMs that I had to order separately. I am not pressing very hard with my non-scientific durometer.
You cannot squash the POMs without breaking them or your finger in the process.
Hard plastic is a good description for POM.

You can see the molding swarf in the rubber damper. The POM seems to be milled from whatever POM is.
Maybe this "POM stands for Polyoxymethylene, this is better known as Delrin" quote from forums?
Align should change the color of POM dampers.

Thanks for the detailed comparison. Well I definitely had POM dampers in my head already. I was squeezing with everything I had an it stayed solid. I was worried about the switch too because I heard the flight is much different with the POM, but I guess I had already got use to it so this is great to know. Happy flying to you.
