You need an USB interface.

After reading this thread I'm working on getting this setup on my Mac. I am so fed up with AeroFly and all the silly adapters. Seems like something is always messing up and I'm having to redo stuff for the transmitter to get it recognized.

I used the free version a lot with a Dynam controller from xheli.com.
I always love to brag on the flying fields in this sim. I never could get my DX7 to work with it though. I used it in Linux.

From what I read the adapter from Mile High Wings was the way to go. So I have one on order. Until I get that I assuming their is not much I can do other than install the software and wait.

I'm planning to run it on a Mac Mini with the following
- Core i5 2.5Ghz
- 16GB Memory
- AMD Radeon HD 6630M (256 MB dedicated memory)
- Mile High Wings USB adapter -> Spektrum DX18

I hope thats enough horsepower for it to run smooth.

If so, there will be a used copy of Aerofly 5 for the Mac for sale along with all the silly adapters for a Spektrum radio.

It runs beautifully on a Macbook Pro with OSX Lion.

Still trying to map functions like idle up 1+2 and autorotate to the switches on the radio. No luck so far. Still have to use keyboard commands for that stuff.

The Raptor 50 model is pretty close to the real thing....the TDR is my fav though.

I read through the manual and I don't see a good way to get the Flight mode switch mapped. Best I can tell it would have to control a channel such as Gear or AUX and then you'd have to map it in the sim.

On their forum I've asked if they would consider having a mode where the transmitter channels map directly like in Phoenix so that you could use the transmitters pitch curves, mixing etc. That would allow you to program the switches just like your real heli.

Does the Phoenix adapter cable work with Heli-X? I want to use a DX8, but their website only list DX6 & 7.

The adapter of Phoenix does not work, it has a proprietary protocol, sorry. The adapters of Reflex (new), Realflight etc. sholud work, or you can use an USB adapter.

Michael
Do you have a good place to order in the US for the Reflex adapter?
