I need help in finding a better charger for my batts. I only have two heli's, a CX2 and a SR.Both came with the stock chargers. The batts are 7.4 and 11.1. I only have one batt for the SR, with a new one on order, and two older ones for the CX2, with a new one on order. I have heard that the stock chargers only charge up to 90%. I would like to get something that would produce a full charge, as the weather around here is letting me fly a lot more. The LHS around here is very proud of their chargers as far as price, which takes away from my replacement crash parts fund. I would like something that would charge both types of batts but it doesent have to be at the same time and the charger does not have to be New, just work for what I need. So you guy's kick this around and let me know what to look for as far as brand, price, new and used and what to watch out for so I don't get something I can't use. Thanks for any help.

For 3s2200mah packs and smaller... I used plenty of these and they were great.
$24 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=18066 of for a bit more power 150W model $46 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15166 Or for high quality (and high power for your future) any charger on this page. http://www.progressiverc.com/chargers/battery-chargers

Any 12V source. Deep cycle, computer power supply, laptop, LCD power supply. Just type 12v dc power on ebay.
I bought some cheap LCD monitor power suppy on eBay when I used those. 10A would do.

If you think you will ever go to a helicopter that requires a 6S battery I would go with a bigger charger.
http://epbuddy.com/index.php?main_pa...llem07mk7efgp1 The 208B and up can measure internal resistance. A plus in checking the health of your packs. |

6S !!!, I cant even get my 3S, SR, to fly worth a dam, but boy am I having a great time with my CX2. Too bad it won't do 3D, short of taking a dirt bath. I am about ready to sell off or trade the SR and down grade to a FP heli, just haven't made up my mind yet. Or could just shelve the SR for the year and then start over. Thanks for all the good info,

Check out progressiverc.com
You can get package deals with the charger, power supply, and cables, so there's no need to look elsewhere or try to find a matching system. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Buy a real helicopter. or at least something a little bigger and maybe better. You'll be flying in no time and having way more fun. |

Dave,
First recommendation is to get replacement for that SR. I will tell you from experience that they fly (and crash) very poorly. I highly recommend a 450 size Thunder Tiger mini-Titan or newer Trex Sport if you're coming from a CX2. If you don't want to spend that kind of money, get a Blade mCPx. They fly (and take crashes) very well and are pretty inexpensive to repair. As for chargers, If you think you're going to stay in the hobby, I'd recommend an FMA Powerlab 8 or Hyperion 720i super duo. Way overkill for now but you won't outgrow it and have to go through the continual upgrade process of only buying what you need now. A parallel charging board used with either of the chargers above will let you charge 6 mCPx batteries at once.

I wonder how many new pilots have been scared off by the fantastically crappy Blade SR.
