Hey all,
I am building my first heli(I have repaired and old 600 from a friend), and I have never have never had to setup the servos directly. I was looking at my 250 pro DFC instructions and noticed the servos on the front are at an angle. Are there any tricks of the trade out there for getting the servos perpendicular to the mainshaft/swash? Also when do you center the servero and install the horn? It looks like the back servo can be centered on the bench before install but the front two may need to have there servo horns installed after installation? Any assistance/advice would be much apperciated. Also, i noticed that my servo horn scerws do thread but do NOT tighten when i screw them into the servo. Is this normal? Should i use blue locktite to keep them secure? Best, Jonathan |

I can't comment on the angle as I don't have a DFC, but...
I like to use small nuts and bolts for a tight and secure fit of the servos to the frame. A small "wipe" of blue locktite is always prudent on all heli hardware!

It is done during 3gx setup, when you set the center points of the servos. Once the servos are at their default center, remove the horns and put them on as close to horizontal as possible, then get them perfect in the 3gx setup.
You can adjust the elevator servo while its in the frame too, might need to hold the horn with some pliers though as it can get a bit tricky to get your fingers in there. |
