The current kit is $85.00 for the metal and nylon components plus you supply the extra servo. So the current kit has mainly metal components in it. I was just flying mine today and still made some minor adjustments on it to improve it some more but the tail is locked on so much better than stock.

Here is the link for the product: http://www.freestyle-hobby.com/catal...36c76c799ad28f

I got the belt kit from LeatherHelmet, thanks LeatherHelmet. The belt conversion is straight forward.

Unfortunately, the boom in my BSR is ~ 20mm shorter (was damage from previous crash) and the tail shaft is slightly bent. I grab a King2 boom and tail box from the heli grave bin.

The belt BSR uses Freestyle belt, pulley, k2 boom (shorten to fit), tail box, Futaba s3114 tail servo, home made vertical fin, stock motor w/9T pinion, stock 2in1, gyro . . .

The converted BSR weights 264g w/o batt and canopy, only 5.5g heavier than the stock BSR.

Flight reports:

The maiden flight is unevenful in spite of I haven't flown for a few weeks, the tail holds up pretty good. My keychain cam went out of juice during the maiden flight, the video file is corrupted.

A quick note to you is that you will probably have to shift some weight forward to improve the CG on the heli back to the way it was originally. I've had to move the battery forward into the canopy and I'm thinking possibly might have to go with a heavier battery maybe.

GSPI, thanks for the CG note, the CG is good when moving the stock batt forward a little as in the pic k07. I was able to salvage some of the corrupted video file at the beginning of the flight, still needs some dailing in the gyro gain settings.

Here's the partial maiden video:

LeatherHelmet, I found the tail shaft is slightly bent and there's some slop in the tail box in the kit, that may compromise the tail authority. From my experience, the tail will wag if there's any vibration specially if the vibration is from the tail. Slops in the tail will make the tail control funny. The diameter of the tail shaft in the kit looks too small and the material is kind of soft, the tail blades usually turns about 4 times faster than the main blades.

Hmmm, like I said,I could never get it to stop uncontrollably spinning in circles, and didnt have the patience to go any further with it. I did notice the slop in it though...

Me too. I see it. I wonder if it has something to do with your IP?
