I - we put quite a few flights on them this weekend at the NC Space Cowboy fly-in in Greenville NC. They are holding up fine. This was my local field's fly-in so I was pretty busy helping with the event and such and didn't do as good of a job as I should have putting little marks on them for the number of flights. My son did most of the flying and charging over the weekend. My son did note that a couple of flights he put over 80% back in them while charging so we decreased our flight time down to 3:40 while he was flying pretty hard. Something about an event throws collective management and such out of the window.
I checked the IR's once I saw your post. At storage voltage and room temp they are still 2 to 3 per cell. No puffing or any problems so far. We charge with iChargers at 8 to 10 amps now that they are broken in. The cells are shorter and wider than others but in all actuality they fit better to me since I slide them down a bit on the tray for balance.

Locals have been putting some Pulse packs through the ringer on their Goblin & they seem to be pleased... Might have to think about how much I spend on TP's

I've got a 65 coming today so I habit got to try to yet....but based on how my other packs fit then a shorter height wise pack is better since that is where one of my batteries hits first at. It has plenty of extra length and width

So i had a set of 4100 6 s 45 c i think, for my 600. Had a problem with one..and now the 4100 i hear is discontinued..so now i have one 4100 left over. So i guess i use it in my scale a109 500 . I need more weight up front so hopefully i can use it..
so whats the deal with the green line of pulse batteries?? Yea if save few bucks over tp . Kool still l a newbie but i fly almost everyday,4-6 packs on my 450 everyday ,plus the 6s packs on my 600 one votlz set and one align set.

The green line is a natural evolution in the product line of Pulse batteries. They are supposed to be a further improvement on the second release of the red lipos.
I am still a happy customer.

So is the latest the red or the green? I thought an earlier post said the green ones were puffing after just a couple of flights.

The green Ultras are the newest line from Pulse. The ones most of the EFL guys are running are the red 45C 2600 packs that are from the second release. I am having great luck with mine. Put 12 more flights on this weekend on my set of 2600 Pulse while waiting on my TP to come back from warranty replacement.

Did you get a chance to test the fit? I haven't got my 500 built yet, so just wondering if the 65c's fit, or if the 45's are the best to order...

The 65 seemed line it fit fine to me....roughly the sane size as the Flight max 2650 I had. I put one flight on it and it seemed to do good.

Been putting some flights on the Pulse in the evenings. I have been working on some new moves so the wife has been giving me permission to catch four flights after work at the cul de sac while she works on dinner.
The Pulse are holding up fine. IR's are unchanged and they are still the same size...lol! I am starting to be a believer.

Just ordered a set for myself. I will conduct my own test and see if it matches my turnigy 3000 mah 30c in performance. I fly anywhere from 16 to 32 flights a wknd. More to come.........

Just got 2 of the Red Pulse 3000 35c 6s. Got them from HeliDirect. Excited to try these babies and see how there stack up against others. I'll give you guys a report on flight. My first impressions are that they are very well packaged and the clear shrink wrap around the battery is very clean and well done. I did notice that the balance wires were a lot shorter than my Turnigy's but not a big deal.
Here are some pics: |

I have now just soldered the connectors to the main leads. Was busy all week! I have to say that the main leads from factory were nicely pre-soldered and I added a bit more solder for a little insurance where needed.
Icharger 306B test: Both Red Pulse lipos were properly charged up to 3.84 to 3.85 volts consistently across all cells from the factory. However, when I checked the Internal Resistance (IR) this is were problems came in. For BOTH batteries, the resistance where anywhere from 9 to 12ohm!!!! See pictures. Just as a test, I hooked up 2 of my Turnigy 3000 6s 30c lipos just to compare and each have over 35+ flights and the readings were 4 to 5 ohm. Needless to say, I will be returning these lipos. I must have gotten a bad batch but I thought those were during the first few productions. Oh well, live and learn. On to the next lipos........ |

9 to 12 per cell is higher than you should be getting. Ours are 3 per cell at over 50 cycles. Have you broken them in? The IR will lower usually after break in. With the warranty they will exchange them after you do the break in just as quickly as they will now. I believe you just need to break them in however.

Tomd and Smaze17, thanks for your advice. I really wanted to keep these Red Pulse lipos but the internal resistance (IR) wouldn't come down enough. As I indicated in my original post, the IR is really high (9 to 12 ohms). Tomd suggested cycling them a 4 times which I did. Went really easy on the packs and did not fly at all and just stayed on the ground. Yes, the internal resistance went down to about 8 to 10 ohms but I feel that for a new pack, it should be closer to 1 to 3. I would even accept 4. Anyhow, I finally decided to return them.
![]() So I called HeliDirect and requested an RMA. The gentleman who answered the phone asked me the reason for return and I told him that the IR is really high. (only 2 weeks old). He then asked me if I soldered connectors on it and of course I said yes. He then told me that I cannot return them because I soldered connectors on them and therefore, cannot resell them once received. So I asked him how was I suppose to test if the battery for any defects, good/bad cell, etc. He indicated that I should have used alligator clips. He then reiterated that I cannot return them since I soldered connectors on them. Of course at this point, I was not sure what to do. I've never returned a lipo battery before and did not know if this was really the case or not since I've heard people ACTUALLY flying their lipos and then returning them. Secondly, I was getting frustrated since I've been a loyal HeliDirect customer and they are not trusting what I say, and will actually resell a potentially bad item? Keep in mind that I've spend hundreds of dollars (not unusual in this hobby) with them!! I finally had enough and used the magic words (i think) and said I was getting some advice in HELIFREAK. At that point, the gentlemen on the other line said, "let me speak with my supervisor." After about a minute of silence on the other line, the gentleman came back and said, we'll take it back but next time, and I quote "we cannot take it back once you soldered connectors on the battery leads." Are you serious? Is this true? So to that end, needless to say, I am no longer a HeliDirect customer. I feel that if you want to have a good business, treat your customers right. When I bought things from other online retailers, the returns were uneventful. Even products costing more than these batteries. For example, when I ordered my icharger 306b from epbuddy, I called him with a problem and before I can even finish my sentence, he said, return the charger unit, keep the cables, and I'll send a new unit to you. That's customer service!! Same with progressive RC. Same with the online retailer with the free shipping over $25 (won't mention the name). The fact is, there's too many competition in this market to not trust what your customers are saying. In the end, a company/retailer is only as good as the first bad product that you have to return. Unfortunately, this was the first product that I returned to HeliDirect and this is the response I got. So I am no longer a HeliDirect customer. Out of curiosity, is it true that you can't solder end connectors to battery leads or it is un-returnable? In other words, are people using alligator clips when they first get their lipo batteries to test them out. I was totally caught off guard. By the way, this is my first lipo return and again, I really wanted to keep them. Thanks for everyone's advice. HeliFreak is the best. |

Hey all, I know this is a Pulse thread but this is what I got (2 Gens Ace 3200 mah, 35c 6s) after returning 2 Red Pulse 3000 mah, 35c 6s. Just wanted to show the IR brand new and uncycled. I now have a few cycles (9 total in two weeks) in them in the air and the IR is staying the same (1 to 3 ohms). By the way, the power in these are amazing. I cannot even land cleanly now since any small movement in collective pops the heli up. I need to adjust my CC75 esc!! I'm loving these batteries.
