Default Did I burn up my motor? Only two hovers!

Hi guys,

I finally madined my 700 yesterday and I went out to fly today and I got off the ground and started to hear this high pitched metal on metal sound. I landed and checked the motor and it was very hot after only about 20 seconds of run time, I tried to spin the motor by hand after it cooled off but it was stuck. it is a 700 mx align motor with a castle 120hv also it was spinning backwards when I first powered it up but I reversed the direction via the software. Did I mess it up?

Sounds like it could be bearing failure.
Strip the motor down and inspect them before you condem it.

Possibly. You could take it back to the place you bought it and ask.

Go to this LINK this is the RMA page for Align, that is there US Distributor. Go ahead and send Tim an e-mail requesting an RMA number for you to send the motor in. You will need a copy of your receipt for any warranty exchanges or repairs. You have 90 days of date of purchase on electronics in Align helicopter kits. Hope he can help you out.

Check pinion bearing. I did the same thing with mine... others have also had the same problem. They dont mention to recheck pinion to bearing height after you install the motor
