600mx 5.5mm bullets install

Good day all. Bought a 100a hobbywing esc and are struggling to get the thick wires into the 4mm bullets. Want to go to 5mm or 5.5mm bullets. Must I de-solder the bullet on the 600mx or can I cut it off? Heard somewhere that there are something on the tip of motor wires and it`s better to de-solder them.

A good rule of thumb is if the wires are hard then they are more than likely part of the windings and should not be cut.

Just un-solder the motor bullets. Those are winding wires and they will already be tinned too.

I recommend you consider a 10 or 12 AWG jumper wire between the ESC and the motor. That way you would not alter the motor 4mm male bullet connectors, and allow you to solder whatever larger type of connector on the ESC without needing to thin out the ESC wires. if you are planning on using an external governor, or just want to measure RPMs, solder the RPM sensor to the jumper wires as opposed to directly solder these sensors to the ESC itself. This would allow you some flexibility for future modifications.
