Default Help on choosing Trex 700 AP motor

Hey! I am doing AP and need a good efficient motor. I need about 1300 RPM (800mm blades) and need a motor that is low KV and very EFFECIENT.
I know about Xera, but I dont think I can get one because guys at Xera wont answer my mails. Can you please help med choosing another motor? 12S setup.

Scorpian makes great motors. They have a 300Kv, I currently us a Hacker Turnado motor @ 400Kv spinning 710mm.

Default More info

I can explain a bit more about my cameraship. It is a trex 700 F3c with 800mm blades SYMMETRICAL from Rotortech.
It is with a E-4 mount from HelicamSolutions. Total weight ready to fly with cam is about 9kg.
112T main gear and 12T pinion. 12s lipo 5000mah.

I can order the three following motors:

HYPERION HS4035 0400 KV

Neu motor, 1915H/1.5Y, 450Kv

or the

X-Era 4035-400 (I found one I can order)

which one should I order. My first priority is FLIGHT TIME, but power is also important. Thanks for the help, guys!

I'm using a 5035-410, its great. The picture in this link shows a 8 or 10mm shaft but it's actually 10mm through the bearings and then ground down to 6mm for the pinion. Awesome motor.

Check out the 300 Kv (only one) on the Photoshipone website. $140. It's a big motor, I use one on my 600. 10s, 1200 rpm with 620 spinblades. 11lbs auw over 14min. flight time with 5000 mAh batteries.

I'd go with the neu motor I have used neu motors in helis and rc trucks and they are by far the most efficient motor I have ever used

Isn't NEU gonna be too fast for this setup? NEU is 450KV so at 80% efficiency that would give you 9 teeth pinion... a no no! A slower motor is needed. I went for a 330KV from Scorpion and I'm pleased with the performace/efficiency.

The main gear for 700 nitro and a 15 teeth pinion (164/15) will give a ratio of 10,93. The slant main gear and pinion combo (112/12) give a ratio of 9,33. Just by moving towards a smaller modulus gear you gain 17%

164 teeth main gear = CNC M0.7 Main drive gear(164T) HN7019-2
15 teeth pinion= Pinion Gear 15T H60174 6015 (for 6mm shaft)

You don't want to be running 800mm blades with mod 0.7 main gear. It will become a weak point and could strip durring the flight. Only use mod 1.0 on a heli of this size.

Hi Darug,

I know it is not as robust as 1.0 modulus but I have been using modulus 0.7 164T x 16T on my t-rex 700 with 180cm rotor for 1.5 year now, have not had one slip during flight. I say it is safe to try.

what about a Xera motor , runs very smooth , something like this :

from my experience the Neu and Xera have less vibration , just my opinion and testing
