I agree.

Tail movement is still little visible, but all depend too on how good is your tail (motor, mechanics, gyro settings, ... ) and how hard you are on sticks. If you are experienced pilot and you are already familiar with your helicopter you will not see any tail rotor movement with Kosmik.

This is not true, e.g. if you fly on low rpms with Kosmik you may get some tail kicks, with VStabi governor no.

But in overall i clearly prefer Kosmik governor and i am not anymore interested in any Jive/Power/Heli or VStabi governor ...
I hope that Kontronik will release smaller Kosmiks ( 120 / 80 ) as we can use this great ESC in smaller helis.

I am pretty sure the thread starter knows this already but just in case it was missed or others watching has ordered one prior to the "fix / update"

Kosmik 200 has been recalled....

I like to hear that I'm curious...

Is the Kosmik governor better than the V-bar Governor?

With a 4530, is the Gov really doing anything as that's so much power I notice no bogging regardless of esc/vbar gov settings?

I've need to have a look a my logs from today's flight, but 15 degree did bog the heli...I should have been very close to 100% Pam with my setup...I highly suspect that my flight packs were the reason for the bogging! They came down at 155F and I finally managed to puff a TP 65C pack!! I backed the pitch down to 14 degrees, and no bogging..,just FAST!!! I'll report on what the log tells me...

That sucks!!! I can't wait to try out the Kosmik once I get a 770! Sounds like we now have a nearly indestructible ESC!!! Next time you have a long wait at HEF, we can go fly at my field or take up ye ol piper seminole and get you back into some good ole avgas burnin multi engine!

So the trimming you did on the side frames are to be able to see the LEDs, right? Would the Kosmik 160 be an easier fit since its a bit smaller or would it be the same? Planning to use the 160 on the 700 and the 200 on the future 770. Thanks.

Ah, I see....the front of the mount needs filing/grinding down right?
Is that about it?

Mine is only the 160 but got it to fit better upside down. No grinding needed just zip ties and double sided tape

Kosmik 160 and 200 have the same size footprint.
If you buy the lower CF section of the battery tray from the 770, it has mounting holes predrilled to suit the Kosmik ESC's.

This is how my Kosmik 160 is mounted. I also use the 630 CF ESC plate under the ESC for protection and to lower the weight.
You have to grind the inside of the front ears on the aluminum landing gear struts that bolt to the side frames at a 45* angle from the bolt hole forward if you have the battery tray in the lower mount position. This is so the ESC clears and mounts in the existing slots in the 770 tray. With a 4530-540 and the Kosmik I have to slide the batteries all the way back with 65C Pulse 5000mah packs to get proper CG. All-in-all, it is entirely worth it. It's a beast for sure!

Putting a kosmic in my 700, and would prefer to have tray in lower position

Will grinding those struts work on the 700 too, in order to fit the kosmic and have tray in low position? Or is the 770 different in ESC area than the 700?

I'm using the 770 tray in the 700 with the battery tray in the lower position. I had to grind the front strut to get clearance around the ESC. As far as the ESC area in the 770 goes... I don't know since I don't have one.
