um change the angel on the load what you did will never work my servo cant rip the balls off and extend them.

you just simple added way to much angle on the load back it back to where the balls would be still on the servo.

also this dose not add any extra strain on the servos in fact it make the servo's work much less as apposed to having the balls all the way out where there would be much greater load pushing and pulling

you dont have to you could go one more hole out to 12mm spacing and the angle would be more parallel, and you will still have the resolution you need for fbl systems. I am at 12m spacing and my links are parallel and i hit the blue at 6 on beastx no problem

You don't want to look at Nick Maxwell's X50E then. Or any pictures of the X50 I had. These angles have never posed a problem for me.

Corrected picture. Still have angles. I get blue at 6 degrees. The links are EXACTLY the same length. The problem in my setup was with the elevator bell crank not being at the correct angle.

Yeah it really does work. My 550 links angle in like your drawing. no binding at all. I scratched my head about the mechanics of it and even posted about it a few year back. One of puzzlers.

The problem with the above posted diagram is the bellcrank is driving (over driving) the servo. (Servo arms on the right, bellcranks on the left in below diagram.)

The bellcrank can't move any further then the servo pushes it (Ill B), and as long as the push rods are equal distance from center on the servo and equal distance from center on the bellcrank (not necessarily between the two) there is no binding. Now, we tend to go in with the linkage on the servo arms to get more res for FBL... that works. But if we went out with more spacing on the servo arm then the bellcrank then you could over-drive the bellcrank and cause binding.

Guys need to understand that with a proper mechanical setup, the servos will provide sufficient throw for the bell cranks without getting the linkages all whacked out of shape. The servos will not move as far as is shown in this diagram nor the one posted prior to it.

Bob is correct. The throw on the cyclic servos in my model is far from the diagram. My setup works just fine throughout the cyclic and collective range without binding. In fact, if there were more cyclic throw available on my controller, I could use it without ill effect.

Here is my X50 with 9mm ball spacing on the servo wheel using the FBL bell cranks. No problems whatsoever. Scott, I'm sure yours will be perfect. Can hardly wait to see it in the air!!

I just tried showing that there will be no binding issues even if the servo arm is at 90 deg... let alone the 35-45 degs that is normally used.

Scott,

Can you take one of those scorpion battery straps and lay it stretched out next to a tape measure and post the pic? I want to make sure that the battery strap that I am looking at for AleeS Straps is long enough.

Thanks

I'll probably fly it Saturday. I've been incredibly busy both here and at work (early, early arrival today). So, I'm shooting for Saturday.

I favor the Scorpion Straps the XL 700-800 size as I strap each pack seperate. I did not like to strap through the trays around both packs.
