It's nothing to do with the signal getting through the canopy or not. When the heli is nose in to you, facing slightly to the right, you would end up with both leads from the 7200BX and one from the sat being shielded by the carbon frame. Just from a safety point of view, even if you only lose the signal for a second, the time it takes for the AR7200BX to re initialise would see your heli in bits on the floor, or worse if it was heading towards people at the time.

Thought I'd post pics my latest wiring and electronics arrangement.
ESC on the bottom of the frame isn't ideal in a crash but if it got killed I'd have an excuse to get a CC 75A.
I used to conceal all the wires in the frame but have opted for a tidy arrangement that allows the boom block to be easily removed.
