Currently using the 80HV in a 6S setup. Thought one day I may want to go 12S. Haven't used the 100 but the 80HV comes down cool to the touch.
I don't remember if the 100 has an internal BEC but the 80HV does NOT so BEC Pro is a must.

I'm pretty sure i've got all of my info right in the castle software but I could be wrong.
Temps = Max 116, Avg 105. Current = Max 40.7, Avg 19. This makes me concerned that it's not logging properly, this is the last reading from today @5Hz. I'm not a 3D pilot but i do stress the motor with some quick flips. Also there are periods of about 20 seconds where it logs a 0 for the RPM and Current, at the same time the voltage goes up during those periods of 0. Not to hijack the thread but this is my first time looking at the logs and i'm lost. I didn't land the hell for 6:30, why would it log a 0 for 20 seconds on 3 seperate occasions in this one session?

Why are you using the plastic 600 tail grips?

"Why are you using the plastic 600 tail grips?"
I bought it from a good friend. He had damaged the metal ones and replaced them with plastic. I have the plastic ones on my Trex 700E, so why not? Tail holds well and is quite precise. The metal looks nicer, but the plastic works fine.

I've never had a separate pack for my electronics so I don't know anything about it and would like to know.
I understand the necessity for a batt pack for a liquid fuel machine but: What would be the advantage of a separate battery over a BEC for an electric machine? What type of warning do you get when it needs to be recharged? If your pack dies during flight is there any back-up system? Is there a weight savings over a BEC? Do you need a separate charger for a life pack? I am truly clueless, so please do not take these questions as being sarcastic. Thanks! SN |

"All the questions that you ask are what makes me far more comfortable using a BEC off the main pack which I know is fully charged at the start of each flight, and it's lighter than the separate battery powering the electronics."
Mine has a WR Super Hercules BEC on it, running from the main pack. I do not want to have to charge/cycle/maintain a separate receiver pack. I have nine or 10 of these in service as the moment (some for several years) and they have given very good service, so far. On my nitro machines, I use Duralite regulators and batteries with very good results.
