Default Dynam 3GS flybarless gyro is infact a ZYX-S!!! for $24.95 NEW?!?!?

Last week I noticed hobbypartz.com had a flybarless gyro with USB programmer on sale for $24.95. It looked to me like it was identical to the Tarot ZYX, so I figured I would get 2 of them to check out. Well they showed up in the mail today so I immediately started playing with one of them.

The software that comes with it looks almost identical to the Tarot ZYX software. The stock firmware was 3.02. I ended up using the Tarot Software during my testing. It seemed to have a few more features.

I started trying to load the tarot ZYX 3.50 firmware and everything looked like it was working. It finished flashing it and said it was completed but after rebooting the gyro it would not initialize. No lights at all. So I unplugged it, held the set button down, powered it on and proceeded to load 4.0 on it. Same thing, everything loaded good but on reboot it was dead. I really thought I had messed it up . Then I got the crazy idea to try to load ZYX-S 4.0 firmware on it. Bam! it took it and rebooted with no problems! Everything seemed to be working great!

Next step was to see if it would work with a Spektrum Satellite RX

So I bound a Spektrum Satellite to a receiver, unplugged the satellite and hooked it to the Sat adapter cable(It doesn't come with this) and into the rudder channel and power it all back on. Everything worked great!

So I I thought I would let you all know that you can get a Tarot XYZ-S (Dynam 3gs) with USB programming adapter for $24.95!

Hope it helps someone!

Thank god shipping is $35 , as i ordered a new ZYX-s yesterday for $55 shipped.

I would have felt pretty bad being able to get one half price half a day later.

The ZYX does not appear to be a clone of anything and works very well.

That's great! Thanks for posting DPI_USA, and thanks for the heads up in the ZYX thread Dr.M.

Yeah, pity about HobbyPartz international shipping rates. Doesn't help that USPS increased their international rates significantly recently.

I see UPS is doing a very good rate now for international post office delivery. A Main Hobbies are using them and the shipping cost is excellent.

I've never looked at the internals of either, but the ZYX sure looks like an Align 3GX to me.

Have a look - completely different, why would anyone want to clone a 3GX???

#1 that is completely false
#2 nobody in their right mind would clone the POS 3gx.

Once and for all, people - the ZYX is not a clone. It is an original product by Tarot. Also, don't be so quick to judge the Dynam as a clone. It could very well be a rebranded OEM ZYX, just like the Brain and iKon situation.

Here is the insides of the $24.95 version. Not sure what a Tarot ZYX/ZYX-S looks like inside since I have never taken one apart.

Jesus,

#1 Like I said, THEY LOOK ALIKE. I never looked very closely at either. Tarot also clones Align HELIS nearly part for part, so how would it be such a stretch to say they cloned the 3GX too?

#2 I know many people who are PERFECTLY happy with their 3GX, and have flown a 600 equipped with one, and it was just as solid as a 550 I flew with the AR7200BX. So why you call it a POS is beyond me. And the one I flew wasn't even on 3.0 yet, which, from what I've read, makes it just as solid as the AR7200BX out of the box.

I didn't mean to start a d@mn war over FBL systems...

I read a report from a very good 3D pilot that put the 3GX back on just to see if v3 had fixed all of the issues he had with the 3GX. He said it felt different, but still had all of the quirks it had on the previous version.

If I have a TRex 500 Pro, Can I use the ZYX with a Spektrum satellite bind it to it without a Full receiver?

Saludos!

You can use a ZYX-S to bind a spektrum satellite without a receiver. the ZYX (non S model) will not work with a spektrum satellite

Single sat with a 500 is not recommended. You might consider getting the ZYX20 expander or using a full range receiver to gain redundancy for signal reception.
