What rumors of a Trex 500 SE model? I've haven't heard of any from anyone.

The Trex 500 just came out, so far there is no plans of an SE model. Also I dont think there will be since there hasn't been one for either the 600e model or the 600n model.

Thanks.

its already se.. I think there will be no SE kit at all. it already has metal stuff in it. Basically the kit is a smaller 600 which never had a SE kit. I know they will come out with metal to replace the plastic head parts on the bird right now, but for the time being, NO there will be no SE kit.. IMHO

I believe Andy Yu of Align mentioned that the 500 will come with a torque tube tail drive / metal tail case, and full metal head in the future. I believe this would be marketed as the SE version. Watch Bob's video " interview with the Trex 500".

Hi Luc

No marketing guy in his right mind would announce a "Special Edition" right after the primary launch. That would just be to darn crazy, and very bad for business.

An SE launch is to boost sales after a while ...

Just my take on things

I suspect that SE versions of both the 500 and 600 will be driven by sales. When sales drop, the SE comes out to boost interest and sell more to all those that have to have the latest and greatest.

What's not SE already? This heli is the best setup Align kit out. The mixing arms, seesaw, and tail case are the only non-SE plastic parts, so who cares.....? It already has the newer swash, full bearing washout arms, thrust bearing tail rotors.... the list goes on and on. For $560 w/blades it's a killer deal in my opinion.

The one heli Align needs to update is the 600E. That bird is OVERPRICED! No blades, crappy white canopy, and wayyyyyyy to much plastic for $600! Crazy! Don't get me wrong, I love the 600, but that's the bird Align is making tons of money on.

The 500 is the best bang for the buck!

There will be upgrades coming.

Metal mixer arms for the head
Metal seesaw
Torque tube
Metal tail case

Later Align "may" add some of these upgrades to the kits like they did with the 600's. BUT like the 600's I doubt they will come out with a SE version. If they do it will be a long time from now!
