Duralite Charging - Opps not good!!!

I liked the DL's so much in my Rx's I bought them for my Futaba 9CHS. I asked do I have to take it out to charge it? He said, "No, I am going to throw in an adapter" but there was not one in the box.

No big deal. I cut a servo extension and cut the old Futaba charger cable I no longer need. I wire it up (black-white line wire to red) coming off the Duralite charger but I do not get a "green light". Umm O.K. So I reverse them and get a green light. GREAT! Does not seem right but O.K.

I few minutes later I smell something. Did I turn off the soldering gun? Yep.

Look over CRAP!

At least the radio is O.K. I guess the first way was correct????
