Align motor barely spinning

It all started with my align ESC going up in flames and resulted in a crash of my T-Rex 450 Pro 3GX.
Relatively minor damage, only the speed controller.
All is good, I order a new one and test everything, only to discover that the motor (RCM BL450MX) is stuttering, barely turning for half rotation and stop.
OK, motor must be shot then, order a new one and test it.
Same thing happens!
Hell, I must have fried the 3GX unit (Receiver) during the crash, so I decided to take this "opportunity" to get the Spektrum AR7200BX/Beast Flybarless unit.
Now, I'm setting up everything on the bench, nothing installed in the heli.
I bind my DX7 to the new AR7200BX unit, set my transmitter with linear throttle curves, not throttle ATV, no throttle trim.
Still the same problem, with everything new (motor, esc, receiver).
I tried also various adjustments while setting up the RCE-BL35X speed controller, to no avail.
I even set up a new model on my transmitter, just in case, no luck!
I, then connected a cheap Turnigy motor, and this one works flawlessly, with almost any settings!
I would be more than happy if someone could come up with some ideas on how to solve this issue, I'm clueless.
