Question Flymentor without CCD

Is it possible to run the FM without the camera, it is just to squirly in liftoff and hover(position), above 15 feet it's great, i have sensitivity set at 60% and CCD gain at 5, with my setup on a BLADE 450 3D the FM is constantly on due to i'm using a seperate gyro for tail. Any suggestions, feedback, advice will be greatly appreciated, Would a piece of tape covering the camera work??

Your balancer gain could be too high, reducing this will help with steadier take offs.
