hey stolla,

I've tried both methods red and blue. As you pointed out really depends on motor and wire O.D. I really like what the blue method provides as you mentioned. Still undecided which I prefer. Right now its blue cause that what I'm use too.

I may change my other Pyro with the 1.4 mm. If I can buy the shaft on the Pyro "black edition" then less chance of snapping that shaft.
I'm sure the new Pyro 750 will change things for sure with some of the new addition's too that motor which look very interesting. Like the larger shaft and the use of nomex paper on the edge of the stator.

Off all the motors I still find the scorpion with the nomex paper the best way. Don't really care for the epoxy coating a specially on the pyro. Not very consistent plus those sharp edges on the stator is not fun to work around. One small error and you can crack the coating or nick the wire's.

copper % on this current motor 6+7 is the same as the 5+5 with 1.4 mm .

Question: As anyone have any experience rewinding a Pyro 600 ?
Working out some specs and pretty close to a method but still would like to hear from others.

cheers

Here is set of Pyro just completed. Both 6+7 1.25 YY 513 n/spec.
One thing to note for those doing these motors regarding the rewinding. I've found the carrier has a flange which is dangerously close to the wire's and coluld cause a short after some use under vibe.
So some dremel work and some nomex paper should be used.
seems like they didn't bother removing that scoop on the carrier. Not a cheap motor so why they didn't have no idea.
I suspect the Pyro 800 may have the same issue and flange on the carrier.

Man, y'all are true motor nuts.
I think it's time for a new hobby learning this stuff. Because I'm tired of not really knowing what's going on instead of listen to what everyone else says

the benefits completely out weigh the sore fingers and all efforts to rewinding your motors.
Its the one single most important component the heart and soul of your heli that will produce results in performance.
A lot more then bling out and spending cash on shiny parts that produce zero performance.

Its not everyday you find the likes of Dr.Ralph Okun who has contributed his wealth of motors and to better the experience of all hobbyist and at the same time learn something new.

Actually, I like the way studied reads... powercroco isn't just a studied theorist, he has the ability to turn the theory into reproducible results!

Is this more for speed then torque? Would 500 kv be best for torque? Guess I'm saying what is different in 6+7 513 VS. 6+6 540.
